The Committee for Hancock County Senior Services, Inc. will continue to closely monitor information and recommendations relating to COVID-19 (Coronavirus) from State and Federal agencies as well as from organizations involved in elder services. Following the Governor’s, “Stay at Home Order,” effective March 25, 2020 and along with our geographical location of bordering states, the Board of Directors find it in the agency’s best interest to be proactive and set forth in strictly enforcing only providing “essential” non-emergency transportation and “essential” in-home supportive services.
It is our mission to ensure that all Seniors continue to stay abreast of the current messages from our Federal and State health entities, and encourage everyone to stay calm and informed as more of the information regarding COVID-19 becomes known. In effort to help Seniors and the community stay informed, we are here to answer phone lines during this time. We can help with referring clients to appropriate resources, providing emergency numbers, as a support system, and making arrangements for “essential” non-emergency transportation. As recommended we will continue to contact and keep updated with the Hancock County Health Department Administrator, Jackie L Huff (jackie.l.huff@wv.gov).
At this time, all activities remain canceled until further notice. Ensure sales will be made to you at your vehicle, please park in the spots located close to the building and call ahead if possible.
